Methodology
The medical interview prep market is full of unverifiable claims. We want our numbers to be auditable. This page explains the coaching method behind InterviewMD and the methodology behind every statistic we publish.

InterviewMD is built on the same coaching method our founder Shanaka Jayakody has refined over 15 years and 1,000+ students. It is not a generic AI tool wrapped in a medical theme.
The frameworks our coaches use to assess empathy, calibrate pressure questions, structure feedback that actually changes behaviour, and walk students through a strong interview, all of that lives inside the platform. Our AI is trained on those frameworks, the same ones that produced our 92% offer rate. When it scores your answer, it is using the rubric our human coaches use, not a generic model trying to guess what a good medical interview sounds like.
We built it as software so this method is no longer locked behind high-ticket coaching prices. Every applicant deserves access to the same rigour, regardless of budget. That is why InterviewMD exists.
Across 15 years of coaching, Shanaka personally received offers from every medical school he interviewed at. The wider InterviewMD coaching team holds the same record. Those outcomes shaped the frameworks the platform now teaches.

We believe medical interview prep is a market full of unverifiable claims. We want our numbers to be auditable. For methodology questions, including journalists, researchers, and institutional buyers, we are happy to walk through the data with you.
